What is a fat quarter?

Fat quarters are handy sized pieces of quilting fabric designed for making patchworks, but which are also suitable for making cushions, napkins and bags. Our fat quarters usually measure 50 x 50cms, but some of ours are slightly different.

What kind of fabric is best for quilting?

Cotton is the most popular fabric choice for quilting. The majority of our quilting fabrics are cotton, though we also sell 100% hemp fabric which is also suitable.

What is the best fabric for a beginner quilt?

If you’re new to quilting, then choose fabrics that are easy to press and sew, and that are a similar weight. Our modern batik fabrics, traditional blue and white fabrics and vintage batik fat quarter sets are all suitable for beginner quilters.
