Hilltribe batik fabric, design #2 (see close up picture for design).
These narrow rolls of hand woven indigo dyed cotton are made in the H'mong village of Mae Sa Mai, near Chiang Mai in Thailand.
The fabric is wax batiked by hand using small copper stamps and then dyed with a natural plant indigo which is grown in the village. We have a wonderful array of various designs similar to the ones shown.
This fabric is sold by the metre and are approx 37 cms. wide. A whole roll is 5 metres long
