Where is indigo cloth from?
Indigo dyeing has a long history, with evidence stretching back over more than 5,000 years. The history of indigo can be traced throughout the tropical zone, from China, India, Africa and East Asia where we source our fabrics from.
Does indigo fabric fade?
Indigo is by nature not the most colourfast dye, but that’s part of its charm! Just make sure you pre-wash your indigo fabrics, especially if you’re using them for cushions, upholstery or garments as the dye is liable to transfer.
Is indigo fabric machine washable?
Yes, you can wash our indigo fabrics in your washing machine. Some dye will come out in the first few washes, and though it won’t stain or run into other colours in our experience, it’s best to wash with similar colours at first.
