Cotton Batik Fabric - Green Ripples | Bright Green | 112cm Wide

This lime green batik fabric features a concentric circle pattern. A bright and fun design reminiscent of the ripples from raindrops, this is a lightweight fabric similar to cotton lawn. Suitable for quilting, shirts, blouses and childrenswear.

Often referred to as "Bali Batik", this top quality cotton batik comes from Central Java, the site of an old and thriving batik industry. We buy our modern batik fabric direct from the small scale manufacturing families who have lived in the "Batik District" for generations.

We've been privileged enough to spend many an hour in the workshops with the incredibly talented batik artists of Java, where the long lengths of cotton are dyed first with a variety of non-traditional techniques before wax is applied with copper stamps. A second layer of dye is applied on top, and then the wax is removed in very hot water.
